Missouri State Capitol

We went to Jefferson City, Mo, one day last week for spring break to see the state capitol building. It was pretty cool! I'd never seen a building like that and it was neat to look around. We took a tour of it and learned all about the murals on the walls and we even got to see the House Chamber where all the representatives meet. They weren't in session, but it was still really cool to see that place! We also went to a Military and National Guard Museum and they had some really cool things in the parking lot! I enjoyed this trip a lot! 

Ear Surgery...Again!

I had to have another ear surgery! I had a hole in each of my eardrums and in October 2022 I had my left ear fixed and then in March 2023 I had my right ear fixed. Well this time I had to have my right ear fixed again because the surgery didn't work last time. It wasn't too bad. We had to be at the place at 7am, so it was nice to not have to get up too early. And I couldn't eat anything before my surgery but that wasn't so bad because I don't really eat a lot for breakfast anyway. I had to miss school so that was kind of nice! 

I got to watch a movie before we got started with the surgery and one of the best things was that I didn't have to wear the ear muff or take ear drops after the surgery like the last two! I was excited about that but I think Mommy might have been more excited than me because she kept telling everyone about it!

My two besties, Haddie and Hailey, stopped by to see me later that day and dropped off some yummy cookies as a treat. That was so nice of them! 

Saturday Morning Muffin Funny!

So we always make muffins on Saturday mornings. We make six chocolate chip and six bluberry muffins. We've been doing this for a really long time and we all really like the muffins. Well a few Saturdays ago Daddy was getting me my muffin and he kind of like tossed it to me. Instead of it landing in my hand it landed on the straw that was in my drink! We thought this was really funny! 

100th Day Of School!

Last month we celebrated the 100th day of school and this is one of my favorite days ever! I love dressing up like I'm 100 years old! This year I wore a robe and used a cane. I also had to wear my Life Alert necklace and I put my bangs in curlers and then wore glasses, too. I think I looked really good! And my hair was really curly after taking it out of the curlers! 

Piano Federation

I participated in my very first piano competition a few weeks ago! It was called Federation and I picked two piano solos to play by memory for a judge. One song had to be from a list they provided and the other song could be any song I wanted. I started working on my songs in January and had both memorized and although I like the songs, I was really ready to be done playing them! I was kind of nervous the day of the competition and the piano I played on was a pretty piano, but the keys were kind of hard to push down, so that was not fun. But I got a 5 Superior rating on my playing! That's the highest rating you can get! I was really surprised I got this and I'm really proud of myself, too! 

Schoolwide Spelling Bee!

Last month I competed in the Schoolwide Spelling Bee and got 4th place overall! In January I participated in my classroom Spelling Bee and won first place which meant I got to move on to the Schoolwide Spelling Bee. I was really nervous about it because I was on stage in front of the entire school! Mommy was there subbing that day so she took pictures of me. It was kind of fun having her there, but then also kind of made me nervous, too! When it got down to me and three other people we had to keep going a few rounds before we found the 4th place winner, which was me. But I thought it was super cool because the three people in front of me were all 5th graders! So that means I beat out the three 4th graders who were in the Spelling Bee! I hope I win my classroom Spelling Bee again next year! 

New Year Game Fun

New Year's Day this year was fun because we played a new game, Clue. We got it because Mommy wanted us to get a new game and I had wanted to play Clue, so we decided to get it. Clue is fun! It took a little while to catch on, but we had fun with it! Daddy played with us and Gumma and Poppy came over that day and Gumma played with us, too. She said she always like playing it when she was little so I guess the game has been around for a long time! We also played Uno Attack with Gumma. I love that game, too! 

 

Volleyball Valentine Box!

This year I wanted a volleyball court for my school Valentine box and Mommy came through for me! We found some example online and Mommy got to work! We used an old shoe box and cut a hole in it for the valentines to go. For the net we cut up an avacado bag and spray painted it black and attached it to two sticks. This worked well! I decorated it with some volleyball stickers and we even blued on a bouncy ball for the volleyball. I really liked my box this year! 

Snow Day Surprise!

We had a kind of surprise snow day a few weeks ago and it was great because it actually snowed! On a lot of the snow days we've had this year it wasn't really snowed, just like iced or if it snowed it hasn't been a lot. This snow day there was good snow that was great for making a snowman! I like to play in the snow by making snow angels and going down the slide, so I had fun with that! This snow day was on a Monday so it's always fun to not have to go to school on a Monday!
